Paul Ozin represents MPA in police disciplinary proceedings against former MPS Commander Ali Dizaei

31/03/2010

Ali Dizaei, the top Scotland Yard officer who was convicted and jailed for attempting to frame a man in a dispute about money, was today sacked from the force. The Commander’s 25-year career formally came to an end when he was dismissed by the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) for corruption.

Paul Ozin (pictured) was instructed in the police disciplinary proceedings as counsel to the MPA by John Williams of Bankside Law, the independent solicitor appointed by the MPA to have conduct of the case. The Tribunal's found that Commander Dizaei failed to meet the appropriate standard of conduct. He was in breach of Code 8 of the Code of Conduct because he was convicted of two serious criminal offences. The tribunal recommended that the only appropriate sanction was dismissal from the service.
