Tim is a highly respected criminal practitioner particularly in demand as an advocate in murder trials. Indeed, his enormously impressive track record of murder cases has included not only R v K.M., concerning the murder of Rhys Jones, but R v Sokolowki, multiple murder trial R v Thakrar and R v Ring-Biong & others, a multi-handed gang murder. Meanwhile, R v Joseph Ekaette and R v Hussein Ali Hussein, both involved young defendants. In addition, Tim regularly appears in cases involving serious violence, rape and other sexual offences, and drugs.
Murder
In the last three years Mr. Clark has acted for the defence in a large number of murder trials.
R v K.M. [2008] - Leading Junior representing a youth charged with offences relating to the murder of Rhys Jones in Liverpool.
R v Sokolowki [2008] - Representing a Polish man accused of killing a man and then disposing of the body under a garden patio.
R v Thakrar [2007-2008] - Leading junior representing a man charged with offences arising out of the murder of three men in a house in Bishop Stortford.
R v Joseph Ekaette [2007] Representing youth alleged to have killed a man outside the deceased's address following an argument about youths congregating in the stair well of the block of flats.
R v Hussein Ali Hussein [2006-7] Representing a 16 year old in a murder involving gang violence in Camden.
R v Ring-Biong & others [2005] Multi-handed gang murder trial - junior for the defence.
R v Scott & others [2005-2006] Murder trial (and re-trial) of a Hatton Garden jeweller - junior for the defence.
R v Linadi [2005] Murder trial involving the stabbing of an Albanian man on a dance floor on Christmas Day - junior for the defence.
R v Foster [2005] Murder involving issues as to householders' ability to defend themselves - junior for the defence.
R v VanDongen & VanDongen [2004-2006] Murder trial involving death of a man in the Isle of Dogs. Appeal based on law of provocation and reported widely - junior for the defence.
Terrorism
Mr Clark has been instructed as leading junior and as junior alone in a variety of terrorism cases.
R v Muhammad Ahmad [2008-9] Leading junior in defence of alleged member of the 'Blackburn Resistance'.
R v A.R. [2008-9] Defending young man charged with offences under the Explosive Substances Act.
Other Crime
Mr. Clark has appeared as a leading junior, junior alone and led junior in a number of major cases. He has both prosecuted and defended in cases involving serious violence, rape and other sexual offences, weapons and drugs.
R v Kyle H [2008-9] Instructed to defend young man charged with rape.
R v Ejechi [2008-9] Instructed to defend man charged with raping his work colleague.
R v Mitchell Zelder [2009-9] Instructed to prosecute in attempted murder of a former partner.
R v Delgado & Others [2008] Instructed to prosecute a stabbing in the City of London.
R v Hussain (& others) [2008] - Instructed to prosecute as leading junior this multi-handed allegation of kidnap, false imprisonment and blackmail arising after an investigation by the Metropolitan Police's specialist Kidnap Squad into the alleged kidnap for ransom of a teenage boy.
R v Joseph Brady [2007-2008] - Prosecution counsel in trial of a 17 year old boy charged with causing death by dangerous driving arising out of a collision in which a passenger (also only 17) in the car driven by the defendant died.
R v Kolsumu [2007-2008] - Instructed to defend a man charged by the Flying Squad with involvement in ten armed robberies of banks in South London.
R v Myers [2007] Instructed to defend student alleged to have committed 'date rape'.
R v Barry Smith [2007] Instructed to defend in multi-handed armed robbery on Hamstead Heath.
R v Abdul Hotak [2007] Instructed to defend asylum seeker charged with rape.
R v Kyriacou [2007] Instructed to defend in armed robbery.
R v Mansfield [2007] Defended serving Prison Officer indicted with perverting the course of justice in that he was alleged to have sought to persuade colleagues to 'plant' drugs on an inmate.
R v Joseph Ekaette [2006-2007] Defending youth charged with rape where only evidence of the absence of consent is a video recorded onto a mobile telephone. The alleged victim has not made a complaint of rape but appears to be asleep or unconscious in the video. The Crown sought to rely on the reverse burden provisions regarding consent contained in the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
R v Barari & Zaki [2006-7] Prosecuting for RCPO two lorry drivers accused of one of the largest ever importations of Opium into the UK.
R v Stankunas [2006] Defending Lithuanian man accused by SOCA of gun-running.
R v Christian & Others [2006] Junior in a Prosecution by SOCA of a large scale drug dealing.
R v Davis & others[2006]Leading junior in prosecution of alleged kidnap gang involved in kidnap and torture of a drug dealer.
R v Ali & others [2005-2006] Junior in Prosecution of gang involved in large-scale drug dealing.
R v Thomas & others [2005] Leading junior in defence of man charged by 'Operation Trident' officers with shooting another in the head.
R v Nan Chen & others [2005] Leading junior in Prosecution of five Chinese men for kidnap, false imprisonment and blackmail.
R v Stephen H [2005] Prosecuted a man for raping his sister.
R v Green [2005] Prosecuted defendant for serious sexual offences on children having met them through Internet chat rooms.
R v Skelton [2005] Defended 20-year-old University student facing allegation of rape from fellow student.
R v Green & others [2004] Leading junior for soldier charged with serious assault in Woolwich town centre.
R v Yee [2004] Defended man charged with attempted murder.
R v Peskett & Whybrow [2004] HM Customs prosecution of large-scale drug dealing.
R v Agadjanyan & others [2003] Junior in 3-month defence of defendant in Russian 'mafia' trial involving kidnap, false imprisonment, rape and blackmail allegations.

Tim is an approved pupil supervisor. He has lectured on the Criminal Justice Act 2003 and taught advocacy at solicitors' in-house training events. As a member of the 23 Essex Street Fraud & Financial Crime team he has lectured on Restraint Orders and other parts of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
